However, we all know the best way to an athletes’ heart is through our stomachs. For us, Girona was an open and shut case as soon as we discovered the local markets and producers who are as passionate about their food and drink as we are about sport. The pride in locally produced products is apparent in every vegetable grown, cheese produced, and wine bottled. We don’t just want to buy local products. La Comuna, by Jan and Emma Frodeno, was built upon a foundation of carefully curated local and ethically produced food that tastes damn good. We created La Comuna to share stories, cultures, and moments at our table, so pull up a chair.

When we set out to create our La Comuna family, we knew that we wanted the best on our team. Someone who could create cuisine that tasted incredible and made us feel even better. Alan Murchison came on board as Executive Chef and excellence became the standard. Alan is a Michelin starred chef with over 25 years of experience in Michelin starred kitchens. As if this isn’t impressive enough, Alan is also an accomplished runner, cyclist, and triathlete himself. He works closely with athletes to optimise performance through everyday food. He believes that food is fuel, but that fuel can also be delicious. We are proud to welcome Alan to the team, and can’t wait to see what he cooks up.
